Bee Aerosol Aware
Raising awareness of the dangers of aerosol
How Bee Angels Started
We started this mission after Giorgia Green, a beloved daughter, sister, auntie, student and friend, sadly passed away in May 2022 after accidentally breathing in too much aerosol she had sprayed in her room. Giorgia had autism and sprayed perfumes and aerosols to bring her comfort, as a sort of stimming/self-soothing act to make her feel safe and relaxed. Giorgia’s family and friends had no idea that just regular over-spraying of deodorant could be deadly 💛
We hear a lot in the news about aerosol abuse or ‘huffing’ causing death, but less about the fact that gases in aerosol deodorant can build up in your system over time and become toxic, even from just spraying them in a room or on a regular basis.
Clare and Paul Green, Giorgia’s parents, have set up Bee Angels as a way to remember Giorgia, our little bee, and to raise awareness of the dangers of aerosol overspraying! Bee Angels comes from the fact that Giorgia loved bees, she found joy and wonders from even the tiniest things in life! ⛅️ 🐝
Giorgia is one of many children and teens who have died from over spraying, many of whom had an autism diagnosis and sprayed as a way to feel comfort and safety, we want to get the message out to as many young people and parents as possible, that aerosol can be deadly! #beeaerosolaware
What you can do to help
Help us spread our message far and wide, and educate others on the dangers of aerosol!
As a way to spread our message far and wide our G’s Bees helpers have crochet/knitted a collection of bees to share around the world! We have placed our crochet bees all around the UK and the rest of the world including; Derby, Yorkshire, London, Southsea, Stratford Upon Avon, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Holland and Italy!
Each G’s Bee comes with a mini note explaining our mission of raising awareness of the dangers of aerosol, so we want to spread them far and wide! If you place one of our G’s Bees or find one please post a photo on it on social media with the hashtag #gsbees to help keep spreading our message far and wide!
Our busy bees have been making lots of wonderful crochet/knitted G’s Bees to spread around the world and share our message that too much spray is not ok! If you find one of our little crochet bees share a photo online with the hashtag #gsbees
