Raising awareness of the dangers of aerosol
May 11th, 2022, was a terribly sad day for us, as we lost our much-loved Giorgia. Giorgia, affectionately known to us as G, was just 14 years old when she lost her life, which we now know was due to over-spraying deodorant. G was an absolute joy to be around; she was a very creative and talented young person; an accomplished drummer, and a brilliant artist and she wrote short stories and poems.
For a young person, she achieved a lot and experienced a great deal, her life was short but rich. She was just beginning to bloom though. The foundation for being a successful person was in place; she had grown into a self-assured and empowered young woman.
She was much loved and cherished by those who knew her, and she loved her family very much. Taken too soon and sorely missed every day, G will always be remembered as a bright light and our gift.
G’s family feel broken since losing their beloved daughter, it is a painful and enduring loss. Their news also shocked and saddened friends and the wider community. Through discussions, most of us felt we didn’t realise how dangerous a can of deodorant can be; and it is something we all frequently bought for family use, with little to no consideration at all most weeks...
